Welcome to Jam 4 S.A.M.

It has become more and more apparent that if professionally employed and self-employed musicians are going to survive in Wisconsin, they will need to look out for one another. As more and more musicians take the leap of faith to commit solely to their art, there must be some sort of protection in place to keep them from falling through the cracks when a crisis arises. Jam 4 S.A.M. is committed to helping music people in times of need by providing resources and services that directly impact their health and welfare.

Success Story 1

In the fall of 2005, when the news got out that Milwaukee's profilic keyboardist Sam Steffke had contracted a rare blood disease, musicians and friends around the state began to coordinate efforts to help Sam and Cathy by having a benefit concert and auction. We are happy to report that Sam has recovered from that setback and is playing and teaching again, and that from that outpouring of love Jam 4 S.A.M. (Serving Ailing Musicians) was born.

Success Story 2

On Sunday, May 6, 2007 Jim Kishline, fellow musician and friend, suffered a serious head injury as a result of an accident. Jim underwent brain surgery and fought an amazing battle for his life. Jam 4 S.A.M. and the music community of Wisconsin sponsored events to help Jim, Linda, Pete, and Katie through this difficult time. Jim’s recovery and comeback is the stuff of movies and books.
